I have always had a passion for learning about different cultures. I then discovered that I could combine my love for people and places with cooking. Preparing healthy meals for my family and friends then led me to working with kids and teens, sharing what I learned during my years experimenting in the kitchen.
For the past 10 years, I have worked as a Healthy Kids Educator, first as a volunteer for 9 years in the Arthur-Lovington-Atwood-Hammond High School cooking with high school students and then spending 2 years as part of Sarah Bush Lincoln Healthcare’s Healthy Kids program, sharing knowledge with kids and teens throughout Central Illinois.
Currently I am a monthly guest chef on WCIA’s ci Living in Champaign, Illinois, helping them share the message on the importance of healthy eating.
I am now offering cooking classes throughout the year for kids, teens and adults.
My cooking classes are designed to present the basics to new chefs, focusing on basic knife skills (the most important thing to learn in the kitchen) along with simple cost-friendly recipes.
The class size is small, usually 8-10 students in each class.
